Possible Complications
While we take every effort to make sure any piercings
we carry out are completed to the highest standards,
there is always a potential for some complications.

Complications from body piercing relates to the body
part pierced. Ear cartlidge piercing does not heal as
quickly as lobe piercing because of the difference in
tissue type and pressure on the pierced area during
sleep. Tongue piercing initially swells a large amount
but heals quickly because of the tongues excellent blood
supply.

Nipple piercing may burrow through some of the milk
producing ducts and cause infections or problems if
a woman wishes to breast-feed an infant later in life.
Navel piercing becomes infected easily because tight-fitting
clothes do not allow enough air to circulate, this allows
moisture to collect around the piercing.

Teenagers may have healing problems if the selected
jewellery is not the correct jewellery for the pierced
area. If the jewellery is too thin or heavy, the body
may reject it and work to expel the jewellery like a
splinter in the skin. If the jewellery is too small
in diameter, it may cut off the blood supply and cause
swelling, redness and possible discomfort.
