Outer Labia

This consists of piercing the outer "lips." It originated as a form of chastity that was practiced in Persia, Rome, Ethiopia and India. Today, these piercing are performed to enhance erotic feelings. It may be done singly or more commonly in pairs. Placement is along the leading edge of the labia lips.

inner Labia

As with the labia majora, piercing of the inner labia originated as a form of chastity. For several women, labia piercing are performed to enhance erotic feelings. This piercing may be performed singularly, though they are mostly done in pairs. This piercing is also performed along the leading edge of the labia lips.

Clitoris Hood

The clitoral hood is the piece of skin that partially or completely covers the clitoris shaft. Clit hood piercing is rapidly becoming the most popular female genital piercing. The clit hood can be pierced either vertically or horizontally.

With the horizontal piercing, a ring is usually chosen and placed so that the bead rests directly on the clitoris head. With the vertical piercing, the ring is positioned so to actually rest on the clitoris shaft.

In both cases, most women find these piercing very stimulating.
