At 1pm on Saturday 4th March 2006, we formally attempted to break our own record, and while we cannot formally claim a new World Record without getting confirmation from the people at Guinness, we can tell you that we completed 1015 piercings, and the previous record was 600... you do the math.

We admit we did have a higher target in mind, but the most important thing about this whole event was the people involved, and we stopped, at around 9.15pm, just over 8 hours into the record attempt because there were some concerns about Kam's Health. He is fine now, so there is no need for further concern.
Overall, we managed a total of 1015 individual piercings in 7 hours 55 minutes (after taking off the time for stops) which works out at 4.6 piercings every MINUTE. We'd like to say thanks to The North East Air Ambulance, St. Johns Ambulance, and to all of THESE people.

We also held a raffle to raise some money for charity.

On a more serious note, we would like to point out that something like this is NOT to be entered into lightly. This applies to any piercing, not just record attempts. As it happens, we had to stop because Kam was going into shock. On top of that, the marks left behind on Kams arms and legs can be seen here. Do NOT try piercing at home, and don't get a piercing unless you are SURE. We had qualified medical staff on standby, high quality sterilisation facilities and years of experience to make sure we didn't make mistakes - at home, you DON'T.
