march 2012

We have been updating our website slowly but surely and now we have a new Guest Book up and running so you can send us your comments about your experience about either getting a tattoo or piercing etc in our studio. So send us some of your comments please.

We have also updated the piercing and tattoo information and health and hygiene pages. There are still a couple of areas to complete but most pages are done now.

January 2012

Now we are in another new year, ‘Happy New Year’ to you all.

As you know Abigail was only back for a while and now she has gone on her travels again. She has got herself a job tattooing in down in London where she is hoping to make a name for herself and hopefully in time she is wanting to go back to Australia to live and work there. It’s been great having her back even if it was only for a short time. But we wish her all the best and she knows she can come back at any time in the future

November 2011

We would like to give a big Welcome to Paula who has come on board to work with us doing piercings 2 to 3 days a week. Some of you will remember Paula as Charlie trained her to pierce at the beginning of this year, and since then she has been working in Newcastle. She is fun and bubbly and loves her job and now she has come on board, Charlie will be getting her up to scratch with some of the more difficult private piercings, which she did not learn about on her initial course, as she needed to get to grips with the more everyday basic piercings first.

Also a big Welcome back to Abigail. She has been working in Europe all summer as a tour rep having a great time meeting new people and travelling around various different countries. Abigail will be working, tattooing in the studio, for 2 to 3 days a week definitely up until Christmas, then after that she will be tripping off again. But if she is staying longer we will keep you updated. So if you want tattooing off her make sure you come and see her between now and then. Great to have you back Abigail even if it is only for a short time.

Piercing Training Week
We are having another piercing training week; this will start on Monday 5th December to Saturday 10th December inclusive. We are taking bookings now and it is £5 per piercing and you can have as many as you like. We will be covering all the everyday piercings and microdermals as we have on previous training weeks but we will not be covering genital piercings. So come in and get yourselves booked in soon as we only do so many of each piercing.

September 2011

We would like to welcome Lee Graham back to the studio, Lee worked for us a few year’s ago and then went to work in Durham and also had his own shop for a while, but he has now come back as part of the team. Lee has been tattooing for 10 years now and covers most styles of tattooing. We have got pictures in Lee’s gallery for you to see but we have not got his Bio done yet.

Also sorry to say that Stu is no longer working with us, but it has been great having him as part of the team and thanks to him for everything he has done whilst working here. We wish him all the best for the future with his piercing and tattooing career.

July 2011

Sadly Dan is not working for us anymore as he has gone full time over at Roker Tattoo Studio. As you know Dan has done his apprenticeship with the lads there and he was on lend to us which lasted longer than we thought initially, but now they have given him a full time seat over there as to be expected.
We would like to thank Pete and Dale for letting Dan work for us and also a big thanks to Dan for all his time and effort he put in designing for and tattooing his customers here. Dan it was great having you work with us and we wish you all the best with what you do in the future. We must all go out soon for a few drinky’s!! as we didn’t manage to before you left. Miss you XX

May 2011

We are taking bookings for a Piercing Training Week which will be starting from Friday 10th through to Friday 17th June 2011.

We will be covering microdermals and body piercings, but not any genital piercings. You will need to come in to the studio and book in and it will cost £5 per piercing which you need to pay at the time of the booking, also you can have more than one piercing. Don’t leave it too late as spaces go fast as we only do so many of each piercing.

You will be getting pierced by a trainee who will be fully supervised and guided by Charlie our senior piercer. If for any reason we are not happy with any piercing that has been done it will be taken out and you will be given your money back or if you cancel your appointment in good time you will get your money back.

Don’t leave it too late to book as spaces go fast and we only do so many of each piercing.

September 2010

Hello everyone, as you can see we have built a brand new website but not everything is quite finished yet, so please bear with us as we are working on it as we speak. Our old website had not been updated for a couple of years and there had been quite a few of changes over that period of time and up to present. Over the winter we hoping to re-vamp the studio and give it a new look for 2011. Also we have some new members of the team which have come on board over the last year or so and some that have left and moved on.

Charlie, Monty and Jo are still here; Charlie still owns Body Art and still does Body Piercing. Monty still designs art work and runs the reception and Jo is still around doing various things and has opened Sunderland Laser Centre (Laser Tattoo Removal), which is situated within the same building as Sunderland Body Art.

Unfortunately Steve has left us and moved away at the end of 2009.  This saddened us all at Body Art, including his many customers as he’d been a big part of the team for nearly 5 years. We even miss his practical jokes and cheekiness!!!

The big news is since the end of May this year Abigail has not able to tattoo as she has damaged her left wrist and cannot use it properly. Anyone who has been coming in over last couple of years will know that Abigail has worked her way up tattooing and has become very good at what she does so this has been a big blow for her and for us. She is still seeking medical advice to find out what the problem is and until this has been resolved we do not know if it is fixable or when Abigail will be able to return back tattooing, if at all. We will keep you updated on any developments.

Our new members of the team in the studio are Stu who does a bit of everything and has been working with us since April 2009. Then there is Dan who is a Tattoo Artist and has been part of the team since December 2009 and then we have Robbie who has been on board with us since March 2010 who is also a Tattoo Artist. These guys are really cool and have fit in well and love doing there jobs, if you read their Bios you will see what they are about.
